ExRate Calculator — Privacy Policy

Who I am
ExRate Calculator is made by Eric Cheng. Questions and problems go through the feedback form.
What the app collects
ExRate Calculator has no accounts and no sign-in, and I never see what you convert.
Your selected currencies, recent conversions and the most recently downloaded rates are stored on your device only. They are not uploaded to me, and they are removed when you delete the app.
Two things do leave the app, and neither carries a figure you typed: the rate file it downloads, and the anonymous usage measurement described under Analytics below.
Exchange rate data
To refresh rates the app downloads a public exchange-rate file from the jsDelivr CDN. That request carries nothing about you or about what you are converting — it fetches the same file for every user. If it fails, the app keeps using the rates already cached on your device.
Advertising
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers to select and measure ads; that use is governed by Google’s privacy & terms.
On iOS the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before any tracking identifier is used. If you decline, the app keeps working and you see less relevant ads rather than none.
The one-off Remove Ads purchase turns advertising off. It is handled entirely by Apple — I receive no payment details.
Advertising authorisation for my apps is published at /app-ads.txt.
Analytics
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to count how it is used, so I can see which features are worth improving.
It records an app-instance identifier — a random value created on install, tied to no account and to no other app — along with automatic events such as app opens and which screens are used, plus your device model, OS version, app version, language, and an approximate region worked out from your IP address. Google does not log full IP addresses for this.
It never records the amounts or the currencies you convert. No event carries a figure you typed.
Google holds those events for a limited retention window set on the Firebase property, and aggregate totals after that. Deleting the app discards the app-instance identifier; a later reinstall is a new, unconnected install.
Children
ExRate Calculator is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13.
