What the app collects
Fair Calculator has no accounts and no sign-in, and I never see what you calculate.
The amounts, names and details you type are used only on your iPhone to work out the split. They are not stored after you leave the screen, and they are never uploaded to me or to anyone else.
The app itself stores one setting on your device — the language you chose. In the free version, Google's advertising software also stores your ad-consent choice and its own advertising settings on your device. All of it is removed when you delete the app.
The app has no analytics of its own. The only things that leave the app are the advertising requests described under Advertising, and subscription checks and purchases, which Apple handles.
Advertising
The free version shows banner ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google's software receives information such as your device type, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, how you interact with ads, and crash, performance and diagnostic data about the ad software. If you allow tracking (below), it also receives your device's advertising identifier. That use is governed by Google’s privacy & terms, and Google keeps that data according to its own retention policies.
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK), the app first shows Google's consent message. In the free version you can change your choice at any time under Settings › Ad Privacy Options.
The app then asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. Only if you allow it can Google use your device's advertising identifier to show more relevant ads. If you decline, the app tells Google not to personalise your ads, and everything else works exactly the same. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience. If you see an inappropriate ad, please tell me through the feedback form.
Premium
Premium is an optional yearly subscription that removes all ads. It renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
Payment is handled entirely by Apple. I receive no payment details; the app only asks Apple, on your device, whether your subscription is active.
Children
Fair Calculator is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
You can ask me what personal data I hold about you and ask me to delete it. Send the request through the feedback form and I will action it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially I will update the date at the top of this page.
